Ronnie Ivy, Percussion Director

Mr. Ivy is the Percussion Coordinator for the Heritage cluster bands. Previously Mr. Ivy was a percussion instructor in the East cluster of Plano ISD. Mr. Ivy’s responsibilities include directing the Heritage HS drum line and percussion ensembles, teaching beginning percussion at Maus MS and Roach MS, and assisting with the 7th/8th grade performing groups at both middle schools. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana where he studied percussion extensively with Mr. Kenneth Green. While at NSU, he was a performer in the Wind Symphony, percussion ensemble, principal percussionist for the Northwestern Symphony Orchestra, and drum line captain for the “Spirit of Northwestern” Marching Band. He is a past-president of the NSU chapter of MENC: Music Educator’s National Conference and a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is an active clinician, adjudicator and performer throughout the United States and holds professional memberships in the Texas Music Educator’s Association, MENC, and Percussive Arts Society.
